Camp Mam Rashan Solar Project, a beacon of hope powered by sustainable energy. Situated in the northern region of Iraq, just 75 kilometers from Mosul, the Mam Rashan refugee camp has found solace in our collective efforts to provide a reliable and renewable power supply.

In collaboration with the federal state Baden-Württemberg, Voyage Energy, as a third-party participant, joined forces with Atmosfair to address the critical need for electricity in Mam Rashan. The project focuses on leveraging solar energy as the primary source for a renewable and stable power supply.

Recognizing the high potential for solar energy in Iraq, our project introduces a photovoltaic (PV) system as an ecological and emission-free alternative for power generation. This sustainable solution not only meets the immediate energy needs of the camp but also contributes to a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

1. Total Savings: The photovoltaic system saves, compared to conventional power production with fossil fuels, a total amount of 1100t CO2 each year, over 10 years.
2. Technology Transfer: Electricity generation with a 980kWp photovoltaic system with battery storage.
3. Local Environment: Improvement of air quality by reducing the usage of fossil fuels.
4. Further Advantages: Education/ Employment, energy efficiency measures, and training for residents of the camp.
